In between rainstorms, my son and I laid new flooring in his bedroom. I’ve done this a number of times, but this turned out really great. He and his friend did the dirty work of pulling up old carpet and tack strips. Then he learned how the lay the floor and use the mitre saw. We did the cutting outside on the patio because it creates so much dust. But that also meant we had to rush to get things done between rainstorms since the wind will blow rain onto the patio. We managed to get it done with a few hours to spare, and he was able to move some new furniture into the space. It looks great, and he has a room that he helped refurbish.
Now we only have four more rooms in the house that need new flooring :) #writinglife #lifeofanindieauthor
